Water House 2008, Year 2
Water House is a project from Year 2 of my Bachelors in Architecture. In a group, we created this small dwelling that would collect water for use on the site. In order to blend the house with its surroundings, the columns for the balcony surrounding the house were placed at angles to mimic the nearby trees. The house is situated on the side of a pond. The sloping roofs were filled with plants which would filter the rainwater falling on the site. The rain would then drain to the edge of the roof and fall into a trough, which would drain into cisterns to collect water on the site. The house on both levels used sliding panels to allow a connection between the interior and its surroundings.
